Looking back

Wow where can i start. The missions trip was such an awsome experience and it really was eye opening. I was reallly able to understand more when people mean when they say they are rich in Christ. The people here are such good examples of that. Even some of the team members found ourselves up dancing with the ladies in front of the whole church, sommething you would rarely see in Canada. I've found that since i was at that church with worship like that, its almost like i am craving it now. The people is Zambia really had nothing but since they have God in their hearts, thats all they need. I really believe that the people in Africa have touched and blessed us just as much as we did with their orphanage.

The exchange, i thought, was just going to be a hoiday, but i have learned that this is just and extension of the missions trip. It was so neat, yesterday, when we were handing out easter eggs to kids with aids in the hospital, to see how much it meant to them. They were so thankful. It was a great experience for not only me but Elysia and Wells also. Please continue to pray and ask that we will have more opportunities like that to help others.

Miss you all
Love Elyse

We miss you too! Remember you don't have to be in Zambia or JBay to worship God like that! You can do it anywhere, the choice is up to you. It's just so much easier to do that in a place where you feel the freedom to dance and where most of your friends are dancing along side you.

Enjoy being a "missionary" through the rest of your time in SA, as well as once you get back home.
Blessings!!

Hi Elyse
What a great reflection of the missions trip. To have this opportunity can truly be life changing. I am so excited to hear that things are still happening for you and that God is still working on you. Africa certainly has a spiritual intensity that we don't seem to have here. Or is it that we seek him there and sometimes fall into the same ruts here and no longer seek to grow. That is one thing I am changing now back in our home.
I am glad that you are still part of the "team" and that you see each other. Missing you, but so happy that you are still learning
much love
God Bless

Hello to all of you and a special hug for my Wells. I'm so happy to hear that you did not change from "mission's mode", but that your mission's trip has changed you. There is a huge mission field out there and at home here. Kelowna needs what you all have to offer. I heard the excitement and the pain in Wells' voice after he had come back from the hospital. The compassion is evident in your e-mails and in my son's voice as you tell of the children. It is easy to recognize as it sounds the same as when I read of the Lord, tired after a long day of ministry asking that the children come to him....Jesus in you....the world needs to see it and I'm so encouraged by what I've read on this blog and heard Wells talk about. Enjoy the next 18 days in S.A. and I will be praying that you continue to see more and more opportunities to share the love of Christ. Can't wait to see and hear more when you all come home. Big hugs to you my Wells.
Love Mama Dearborn.
P.S. PLEASE dance and worship here in Canada...we need to get these deadbeat Canucks on their feet and excited about the ONE who has risen for our sake!!!!

OMG! Elyse, I am so excited to hear that everything is going so well! I am so happy for you and cannot wait until you get back so we can talk and you can share alll your amazing stories about everything that youve done. Its amazing to think that you are changing the world and making such a huge difference in peoples lives. In return I hope your life has been changed by these people you have been ministering to. I miss you so much I cant even tell you. i hope that you are still having an amazing time and you are keeping safe. Since I miss you so much I am going to tell you exactly what you have been missing, which in truth is not too much, we are watching movies in Ehnglish so yuo are not really missing anything. Right now we are watching Phantom of the Opera, and we already watched sixth sense and The Count of Monte Cristo. Youth has not been very exciting, well it has but nothing too big has happened. We moved inot our new place and its really nice. Ive already pickd out a couple trees we can take over and inhabit(is that a real word?) and built a mini fortress in. I bought you lots of key chains when I was gone so you have lots to add to your collection. I hope you are doing really well. My internet isnt running yet thats why i havent replyed to any emails. Let Jade know the date you are coming back and the times so I can come and see you at the airport. I miss you tons. Say hi to Wells and Elysia for me. Punch Wells and tell him that i miss him.

Im praying for you all,
miss you
